If you love growing your own vegetables, you'll be pleased to know that many are easily grown from seed. Join Moss Vale Community Garden's vegetable growing workshop and start a rewarding journey to cultivate fresh, homegrown produce from seed.
When: Saturday 5 September 2026, 10:30am – 12:30pm
Where: Moss Vale Community Garden, Railway Street, Moss Vale NSW (next to the Moss Vale Tennis Club)
Cost: $60 — includes workshop, all materials and seeds. Light refreshments available.
What to expect:
A little theory on:
Vegetable seeds — hybrid vs open-pollinated varieties, planting times and germination
Growing media and seed-raising processes
Looking after seedlings — hardening off, planting out and ongoing care
Then it's hands-on: you'll sow your own vegetable seed trays and take home 48 potential food plant seedlings, ready for spring transplanting.
What to bring: Gardening gloves, a face mask (to protect against potting mix bacteria), and a notepad and pen (or phone/tablet) for notes.
